Harajuku Tokyo Fashion Exhibit

The Harajuku Tokyo Fashion Exhibit was a fashion exhibit at the Honolulu Museum of Art The exhibit featured clothing, shoes, and accessories from many different Harajuku fashion styles and brands The exhibit was showcased from 2015/11/19 – 2016/04/03 . I had the wonderful opportunity to work at the exhibit as a live model and docent. So please let me tell you a little about the exhibit!

The featured fashion styles were; Mori Girl, Fairy Kei, Decora, Lolita, Otome, Kimo Kawaii, Visual Kei, Steampunk, Gothic Lolita, and Shironuri.

Some of the featured brands were; Q-Pot, DOG, Ahcacum, Angelic Pretty, Baby the Stars Shine Bright, H.Naoto, Atelier Pierrot, Tokyo Bopper, Wonder Rocket, and many more.

While the exhibit ran its course many Japanese designers and models that were featured attended the grand opening and other special events at the exhibit. The designer (s) for Tokyo Bopper and Juliette et Justine attended the grand opening. Shironuri artist and model Minori Mon attended And She The Opening Also Did A Special Panel On The Application Of Shironuri Makeup (Click Here To Read About That Event).

Lolita model and Chairman of the Japanese Lolita Association Misako Aoki, also attended as a special guest at the museum on a few occasions. Misako Aoki led a panel on Lolita Fashion at the Modern Honolulu and also took photos and signed autographs at the “Art After Dark “Event At The Honolulu Museum Of Art -. Now that the Harajuku Fashion Exhibit is now closed (2016/04/03) I thought it was about time to make a video of the actual exhibit and all the things featured in it. If you were not in Hawaii while it was open this is also a great way to see what all the hype was about!
