Resin Charms and Lolita Fashion

Hello again! Long time no post. I’ve been working on a few things for the past few weeks. I’ve been into making resin charms lately and find that they are perfect for lolita fashion, especially those who are into sweet lolita.

For those who are unfamiliar with resin charms,  they start with a liquid plastic, resin, which is poured into a silicone mold. It takes about a day for the resin to cure into a hard plastic, but it is worth the wait! Note that I am a bit of a novice when it comes to making charms, but I know some of the basics and wanted to share an idea that can enhance your sweet coordinates. The charms can be made into a variety of accessories. An eye pin can be placed into the resin to make a necklace, or a clasp can be put on the back to make a pin or brooch. This liquid plastic can be found at just about any craft store and in general, is easy to use, but can take a bit of trial and error.

Above is the very first set of resin charms that I made. I embedded glitter into them and they had a rather nice sheen!

On the other hand, I have a few more recent charms that I’ve made above. I became a little more experienced with using resin than my first time and used sandpaper to smoothen the edges. Because they are handmade, each charm it made to be unique in its own way. I hope to make a tutorial on making resin charms in the future, so more people can be able to make their own accessories from home.

I am trying to build a small business called Chocola Studio, and the star shaped charms are available on my Etsy!
